There are now all but two New Zealand University Open Access Repositories, the first being at Otago, with Auckland and Massey not far behind. A Working Party produced a report on open access, and the National Library of New Zealand has established a wiki to contain activities. An Institutional Repositories Workshop was held on 23 November 2005 in Wellington following a National Digital Forum on 21–22 November. Five universities/consortia (University of Auckland, Auckland University of Technology, the Victoria University of Wellington, Waikato University, and Further Education) have signed up with ProQuest Digital Commons. One other has DSPace running.
The University of Otago established an EPrints repository in November 2005 in its School of Business with a view to expanding university-wide. Otago actually now has three repositories running: one is a School of Maori, Pacific and Indigenous Studies repository (Te Tumu), and one is a community repository.
