The name AuseAccess was chosen to be easy to say (pronounce as “Oz-e-access”, to avoid conflict with any other similar name in existence (for example Ozeaccess is in use already by an ISP), and to imply that the wiki is about Open Access to research literature in the Australian or even the Australasian region.
It is also fairly easy to remember.
